Arkenode
Careers

Engineering for products that matter.

Arkenode is a small senior team. We hire carefully, give people real ownership, and pay attention to the work. If you’re unusually good at what you do, we’d like to hear from you.

Senior judgment, not seniority theatre

Levels exist for clarity, not for hierarchy. Junior engineers ship real product features. Seniors are senior because they raise the floor for everyone.

Build for operation, not for a demo

We optimize for systems that make sense after launch — clear data models, observability, fewer moving parts, and code we can return to in two years.

Curious, calm, direct

We prefer engineers who read the existing code, ask precise questions, and disagree clearly. We are not interested in hero culture.

Remote, with real ownership

The work is fully remote. We trust the people we hire to manage their time, communicate clearly, and take full ownership of their scope without being managed.

Roles

Open and standing roles.

We may not always have an open seat for every role, but we always read introductions for each of these. If you fit, we’ll find a way to talk.

Senior C++ Engineer — Systems / Performance

For engineers who care about performance, memory, concurrency, networking, and low-level correctness. Performance-sensitive services, networking, simulation, infrastructure, and advanced product features where higher-level tools are not enough.

What you’d work on
  • Design performance-sensitive components and services.
  • Profile, instrument, and improve hot paths under realistic load.
  • Own networking layers and low-level integrations end to end.
  • Lead architectural decisions where correctness and latency matter.
What we look for
  • Strong C++ fundamentals
  • Systems programming mindset
  • Debugging & profiling skill
  • Networking, concurrency, low-level architecture
  • Taste for simple, correct designs

LLM Research Engineer

For people who understand model behavior deeply and can help improve reasoning, evaluation, retrieval, prompting, tool use, and agent reliability. Turning research awareness into production-grade behavior.

What you’d work on
  • Design evaluation sets that reflect real product behavior.
  • Investigate failure modes; propose interventions.
  • Bring relevant research into shipped product features.
  • Document findings clearly for engineers and operators.
What we look for
  • Strong understanding of LLM capabilities & failure modes
  • Comfortable with evaluations and experiments
  • Can read papers and translate ideas into systems
  • Clear thinking about reliability and product constraints

Cloud Infrastructure Engineer — DevOps

For engineers who can make production systems deployable, observable, secure, and boring to operate. Work spans cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, containers, databases, networks, monitoring, and incident response.

What you’d work on
  • Design and maintain cloud environments for production services.
  • Improve deployment pipelines, observability, and rollback safety.
  • Harden infrastructure, secrets, backups, and access controls.
  • Help debug incidents across app, network, database, and provider layers.
What we look for
  • Cloud infrastructure experience
  • Docker, Linux, networking
  • CI/CD and deployment automation
  • Monitoring, logs, alerts
  • Security-minded operations

Systems / Networking Engineer

For engineers comfortable with protocols, latency, reliability, and infrastructure behavior under real constraints. Useful for voice systems, real-time services, networking-heavy products, and advanced backend architecture.

What you’d work on
  • Own real-time and networking-heavy components.
  • Debug latency and reliability issues across the stack.
  • Design infrastructure that fails gracefully.
  • Translate operational signals into architectural change.
What we look for
  • Networking fundamentals
  • Distributed-systems intuition
  • Debugging under uncertainty
  • Strong operational mindset
  • Clear communication

Junior Software Developer — Product / Backend

For early-career developers with strong fundamentals, taste, and the patience to learn how production software is really built. Not a ticket factory — you would work close to senior engineers across web platforms, backend services, integrations, and tooling.

What you’d work on
  • Ship product features under senior code review.
  • Improve internal tooling and developer experience.
  • Investigate bugs and write clear, reproducible reports.
  • Read existing systems carefully before changing them.
What we look for
  • Strong programming fundamentals
  • TypeScript and backend experience
  • Reads existing code before changing it
  • Curious about backend, APIs, databases, product workflows
  • Cares about quality, not just shipping

QA / Verification Engineer — Product Reliability

For people who are excellent at finding where software breaks before customers do. Verifies real user flows, edge cases, regressions, onboarding, payments, scheduling, dashboards, and production behavior across browsers and devices.

What you’d work on
  • Verify signup, checkout, onboarding, and dashboard flows.
  • Test mobile and desktop behavior across real devices.
  • Reproduce customer-reported bugs and validate fixes.
  • Maintain regression checklists for critical user flows.
What we look for
  • Strong manual testing instincts
  • Turn vague behavior into clear test cases
  • Test web apps, dashboards, auth, billing flows
  • Precise bug reports with reproduction steps
  • Good severity, impact, and release-risk judgment
